“Tis the season! The other day I was walking through a retail store and their was already Christmas music playing… Halloween wasn’t even over yet! Ridiculous! It is crazy how soon things happen these days. I used to remember the time I was excited for the holidays, because all I cared about was getting presents. These days it is a different story. It is all about events, appearances and parties. One has to be everywhere at once and has to keep up with everything no matter what. Now I know why my mother was so stressed out!
This is the worst time of year to get ready. I know that my interior design friends are constantly being called to remodel kitchens, living rooms, family rooms, and guest bedrooms or bathrooms. Everyone wants everything done two days before Thanksgiving! Well, sorry to tell you, this late in the year, it probably won’t happen. It’s best to start planning for next year on the remodel, but you can still have a successfully planned event within the next few weeks.
Now you might not get the DJ you wanted, the caterer you requested, the exact location that you planned for, but at the end of the day, the event will be just as successful as you want it to be or can be under the circumstances. Just breathe, and allow the event planner to do his or her best at getting you the perfect event. Planning ahead is the best thing one can do for the busiest season with events. If you plan ahead you will probably get everything you want, but be prepared to put money down.
There have been too many times a person has booked something, but didn’t put a money deposit down on it in time. The same thing happens, it goes to a person who could put the money down on time, and then they lose their spot to keep the booking. So make sure you know what they are asking for upfront, so you don’t lose anything you planned for in advance. Nothing is worse than expecting something and getting nothing! So plan early and get those deposits in, because we are looking into a whirlwind of events that even the best might not be able to achieve!
Plus who would want the world’s worst DJ at their event…
